Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet

A community dedicated to Bitcoin, the currency of the Internet. Bitcoin is a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. You might be interested in Bitcoin if you like cryptography, distributed peer-to-peer systems, or economics. A large percentage of Bitcoin enthusiasts are libertarians, though people of all political philosophies are welcome.

Bitcoin Foundation Canada - Call for memberships and elections 2014

Dear fellow Canadian bitcoiners,
The Bitcoin Foundation Canada (BFC) is the official Canadian chapter of the Bitcoin Foundation which seeks to standardize, protect, and promote Bitcoin. As Canadian members of the Bitcoin community, we’re each tied to this network in our own way and we all have a shared interest in its success.
The BFC’s mission is to act as an organizing body that coordinates and defends these interests in a professional, inclusive and transparent manner. As a member driven organization, we will provide additional benefits to our individual and corporate members - in addition to our representation of the Bitcoin community as a whole.
Since its official incorporation as a Canadian non-for-profit corporation in November 2013, the BFC has been working hard to grow its membership to the largest number of individuals and corporations possible in order to achieve a legitimate, Pan-Canadian representation of bitcoiners.
Our current top three priorities are regulatory monitoring and outreach, education and advocacy and to standardize and protect the Bitcoin protocol.
Regulatory and legislative changes concerning Bitcoin have already been put in motion by the Canadian government. We monitor these developments closely with the help of policy and legal experts and we are confident in our ability to shape their outcome in accordance to the shared interests of the Bitcoin community by providing expertise and advice to policy-makers.
Our educational campaigns, which will include the production and publication of original content (research, reports and tutorials), will ensure that the public has convenient access to easily understandable, accurate and updated knowledge and information relating to Bitcoin. Through our advocacy efforts and media outreach strategy, we seek to foster fair reporting and a positive public opinion of Bitcoin across Canada.
As an open-source project, Bitcoin relies on a number volunteers dedicated to constantly updating, maintaining, and improve the Bitcoin protocol. We will ensure changes to the protocol are coordinated, standardized and transparent for the benefit of the individuals and corporations that depend on it.
Call for membership and elections 2014
Membership
In order to standardize, protect and promote Bitcoin across Canada and the world, our community must unite and speak through a common voice. The legitimacy and effectiveness of the BFC will increase with the support of bitcoiners across Canada.
The financial contributions associated with the memberships are our primary source of funding and they will only be used to further the Foundation’s mandates. Detailed reports of our activities will be made available to our members. Best of all, members of the BFC are automatically members of the Bitcoin Foundation (international) and will enjoy its associated benefits.
By becoming a member, you will be able to influence the BFC's priorities and participate in our projects to implement them by sitting on our committees and participating in our members-only events. The BFC will always remain, to the best of its capabilities, as decentralized as possible.
Becoming a member is fast and easy: simply register an account of the Bitcoin Foundation's website and pay your membership dues (0.05 BTC for individuals) online. We only accept Bitcoin payments!
Elections rules
There are two vacant seats on the Board of Directors for this upcoming election: one (1) for an industry member and one (1) for an individual member. These two new seats, along with the three (3) founding members, will form the Board of Directors of the BFC for 2014.
Only industry members can nominate and vote for the industry seat and only individual members can nominate and vote for individual seat. To be nominated, you must be an industry member or an individual member of the BFC. Both industry and individual members can opt to nominate themselves. Each industry and individual member can only be nominated once (either personally or by another industry or individual member) per election.
If you are a member of the Bitcoin Foundation, you are also a member of your local chapter: the BFC. You have no additional membership forms to fill or supplementary fees to pay in order to participate in the Bitcoin Foundation Canada’s activities, including this election.
All nominees will be required to fill out, sign, and mail in a physical form or (or email a scanned signed copy at [email protected]) declaring their willingness to run for a seat and serve on the Board of Directors if elected. The details on how to vote will be sent to all members by email in advance and will also be posted on the official forum of the Bitcoin Foundation Canada.
Election timeline
Deadline for enrollment of new members* has been extended to: Monday, April 14th, 2014 *(to be eligible for voting or running in the 2014 elections)
Nomination period: Monday, March 17th, 2014 to Monday, April 14th, 2014

Whats up with the Bitcoin Foundations Canadian Partner?
The url on the Twitter handle @BTCCanada is http://www.ca.bitcoinfoundation.org/ which resolves to a generic marketing site promoting facial cream.
On the BitcoinFoundation.org site the "Canadian Partner" affiliate is listed with a different URL http://btcfoundation.ca/ which, when clicked, is "not available?
Which is the correct URL and why are the sites not active?
Can we get this fixed up?
